Michael
Moore is a senior journalism major at Middle Tennessee State University. Moore was raised
in a household filled with lovers of the written word, so becoming a writer was
a natural choice. History books and creative
nonfiction by writers like Tom Wolfe and Hunter S. Thompson sparked an interest
in journalism. Moore has been trained in
hard news, immersion journalism and feature writing.
Moore
has written hard news for the school newspaper, multiple short fiction stories
and feature stories about traditional bow hunting and the history of the Jack Daniel’s
distillery.
After
graduating, Moore plans to acquire his Teaching English as a Second Language
license and move to South America, where he will both teach others and explore
the continent. Moore hopes his international
experience will garner enough attention that will enable him to land a job as a
correspondent for an international news outlet.
